Deuces Wild VP Video Poker
-->
One of the newest casino online games offered by online casinos is video poker. Let’s take a look at one of the most popular Video Poker - VP versions–Deuces Wild.
Video Poker Rules
Every 5000 hands of cycled play, on average, will produce four Deuces—a secondary jackpot to the Royal Flush.
Video Poker is a poker game where less than can be costly. New video poker players are reluctant to throw away all five cards, but this is a most important strategy in that you want to make room for additional cards that could be a Deuce(s). Holding on to that ace or king is not going to help you if the next video poker hand is destined to be four or five sevens.
Here’s the reason for the wavering–die-hard Jacks+ players will throw away a complete hand (5 cards) only 3% of the time.
However, Deuces Wild players toss all cards almost 20% of the time, nearly every fifth hand.
Below is an example of a 9/5 VP pay schedule for Deuces Wild.
9/5 refers to one coin payout for Straight Flush and 4-of-a-kind payouts.
The minimum payout that qualifies for a return of your bet is 3-of-a-kind, therefore, you would not hold two pair, chose one pair only.

Best Strategy:
- Two pair should be saved for the chance at a generous full house pay of 50 coins.
- Notice that the straight offers a better payout of 25 coins than Jacks or Better or Bonus VP. Your strategy should include holding 3 or 4 parts of a straight.
- This VP game is the best bonus bet in the house, even with two pair only returning the bet. It boasts an overall payback percentage of 100.15%.
This percentage is maintained with maximum coins per hand at a ‘full-pay’ machine.
VP Quick Tips
If you can’t afford to play 5 coins at a quarter VP, play 5 coins on a nickel VP as the royal flush pays out $200. The same royal flush with only one quarter in play will get you only $62.50 (250 credits) on a quarters VP - easy decision here.
Some players’ play for the Royal Flush only. I don’t agree as it takes a large bankroll and shortens your playing time. With basic strategy, small wins can keep you playing and not affect your wager management plan—while leading up to that royal flush jackpot.
